Aaron Budd explaining estate planning to a client
The attorney behind the work

Aaron Budd, Founding Attorney.

Aaron Budd is the founding attorney of A.B. Legacy Law and the responsible attorney for Blue Line Legacy. He built this firm because estate planning, done right, is one of the most meaningful things a lawyer can do for a family. He built Blue Line Legacy because the families who deserve it most are often the last ones to get it.

From the people we've served.

Testimonials populated at launch with quotes from initial clients.

They explained everything in plain English and didn't waste my time. We had a will, a trust, and the line-of-duty paperwork sorted in three weeks. My wife slept better that first night than she had in years.

The long game

This is about the long game.

Most officers will work a long career, raise a family, retire, and live to see grandkids. That's the goal, and it's the most likely outcome.

But every officer in Oklahoma also knows someone whose family had a hard time when the worst happened. Sometimes it's a line-of-duty death. More often it's something the public never hears about. The heart attack at 58. The drunk driver on the way home. The cancer that came out of nowhere a decade after retirement. The reality of the job is that you've thought about your own end more than most people. Your family deserves a plan that matches that thinking.

Blue Line Legacy isn't about preparing for the worst day. It's about making sure that whenever your last day comes, and we hope it's many decades from now, the people you love already know what to do, where everything is, and how you wanted it handled.

That's the legacy part. That's why we exist.

Common questions

Common questions.

How much does this actually cost?
Three flat fees. The Watch is $895. The Shield is $2,495. The Legacy is $4,495. Add-ons are flat-fee too. There is no hourly billing on any plan. There is no surprise invoice at the end.
Do I have to come into an office?
No. The entire process runs on Google Meet, text, and email. We send you a notary at signing if you want one, or coordinate with a notary near you. You can do this from your kitchen table on your day off.
How long does it take?
The Watch takes about two weeks from intake to signed documents. The Shield takes about three. The Legacy takes about four. We don't rush, and we don't drag it out.
Do I have to be active duty?
No. We serve active, retired, separated, and reserve officers. We also serve spouses of officers, and we're expanding to fire and EMS in 2026.
